PAY FIXATION ON PROMOTION |
Fixation of pay on promotion under CCS (Revised Pay) Rules, 2008, an employee has been promoted or upgraded to higher grade pay in Central Government service should have submit an option form as per FR22 (I)(a)(1) Rule within one month. As per Rule No.13 of CCS (Revised Pay) Rules, 2008, On promotion an employee will get one increment equal to three per cent of his basic pay (Pay in the pay band + Grade pay). “In the case of calculation of increments under the revised pay structure, paise should be ignored, but any amount of a rupee or more should be rounded off to next multiple of 10. To illustrate, if the amount of increment comes to Rs.1900.70 paise, then the amount will be rounded off to Rs.1900; if the amount of increment works out to be Rs.1901, then it will be rounded off to Rs.1910.” The increment amount will be added to the existing pay in the pay band. The Grade pay corresponding to the promotion post will be added to the pay in the pay band. A Government servant has an option under FR22 (I)(a)(1) to get his pay fixed in the higher post either from the date of his promotion, or from date of his next increment. As per the provisions of FR22(I)(a)(1), the benefit of fixation on promotion as follows… In case the Government Employee opts to get his pay fixed in the higher post from the date of promotion, he will get his first increment in the higher grade on the next first July, if he was promoted between Second July and First January. In case the Government Employee opts to get his pay fixed in the higher post from the date of next increment, he will get his pay on promotion date itself with his promotional Grade Pay, but pay in the pay band unchanged till the next increment date. Further refixation will be done on the next increment date i.e., First July. On that day, he will be granted two increments, one Annual Increment and the second Promotional Increment. Illustrations: An employee drawing a pay of Rs.12,800 in the Pay Band of Rs.5200 – 20200 including Grade Pay of Rs.2800. He is promoted to a post in the next pay band of Rs.9300 – 34800 and Grade pay of Rs.4200 on Dec 2009. When he opts for fixation on Promotion Date… His pay will be fixed as follows…
An employee drawing a pay of Rs.12,800 in the Pay Band of Rs.5200 – 20200 including Grade Pay of Rs.2800. He is promoted to a post in the next pay band of Rs.9300 – 34800 and Grade pay of Rs.4200 on Feb. 2010.

I am promoted w.e.f. 1-1-2012 and would be on leave for my personal reasons from 15th December, 2011 to 15th Feb, 2012 so I would not be able to join the higher grade on 1-1-2012 but would be taking charge only on 15th February, 2012. can you suggest how I should go for pay fixation under FR 22 rules for 6th PC. Can you guide me so that I will have least loss. My date of next increment is 1-7-2012.

My self appointed as LDC in GREF(BRO) on 23/08/1982 and promoted through as Steno-gde III on 06/09/1995 in the pay scale of 4000-6000 and further promoted as Steno Gde II in the scale of 5000-9000 (Revised to Rs. 9,300-34,800/-) and present pay is 12910 + 4200 = 17110/-. Now my self getting in the rank of Steno A(Group B Non Gazzeted) from 20.09.2006 as a Steno Gde A in Grade pay of 4600/- and my pay has been fixed as 10220 (Pay scale) + 4200 (Grade Pay)from 01/09/2006. But as per the Govt of India, Min of Finance, Dept.of Expdr No.1.1.2008-IC dated 16 Nov 2009 the intial pay for PAY BAND 9300-34800 PB-2

Request confirm whether my pay has been fix according the rule . Since i have not touched the pay scale of 12910/- on 01/07/2011. hence request clarify me the same that the fixation done by my department is correct or otherwise.

I am appointed as CEO on passing departmental examination from cantonment board in the pay scale of rs 6500-200-10500(pre-revised) ..Before appointment I was in the scale of 1450-350-14400-16800-450-19500-525-22650-600-25050 and with basic pay of Rs 20025.this is pay scale prevailing in karntaka. the promtion is from state autonomous body to central govt.State whether my scale w ill be protected ? What will be my initial fixation?
i am joined in job on 10-03-2006, at 1900 grade pay and 5830 band pay(7700). now my basic (7060+1900). Now I got promotion grade pay 2400 what is the band pay
