Fixation of pay on promotion under CCS (Revised Pay) Rules, 2008, an employee has been promoted or upgraded to higher grade pay in Central Government service should have submit an option form as per FR22 (I)(a)(1) Rule within one month. As per Rule No.13 of CCS (Revised Pay) Rules, 2008, On promotion an employee will get one increment equal to three per cent of his basic pay (Pay in the pay band + Grade pay). “In the case of calculation of increments under the revised pay structure, paise should be ignored, but any amount of a rupee or more should be rounded off to next multiple of 10. To illustrate, if the amount of increment comes to Rs.1900.70 paise, then the amount will be rounded off to Rs.1900; if the amount of increment works out to be Rs.1901, then it will be rounded off to Rs.1910.†The increment amount will be added to the existing pay in the pay band. The Grade pay corresponding to the promotion post will be added to the pay in the pay band. A Government servant has an option under FR22 (I)(a)(1) to get his pay fixed in the higher post either from the date of his promotion, or from date of his next increment. As per the provisions of FR22(I)(a)(1), the benefit of fixation on promotion as follows… In case the Government Employee opts to get his pay fixed in the higher post from the date of promotion, he will get his first increment in the higher grade on the next first July, if he was promoted between Second July and First January. In case the Government Employee opts to get his pay fixed in the higher post from the date of next increment, he will get his pay on promotion date itself with his promotional Grade Pay, but pay in the pay band unchanged till the next increment date. Further refixation will be done on the next increment date i.e., First July. On that day, he will be granted two increments, one Annual Increment and the second Promotional Increment. Illustrations: An employee drawing a pay of Rs.12,800 in the Pay Band of Rs.5200 – 20200 including Grade Pay of Rs.2800. He is promoted to a post in the next pay band of Rs.9300 – 34800 and Grade pay of Rs.4200 on Dec 2009. When he opts for fixation on Promotion Date… His pay will be fixed as follows…
An employee drawing a pay of Rs.12,800 in the Pay Band of Rs.5200 – 20200 including Grade Pay of Rs.2800. He is promoted to a post in the next pay band of Rs.9300 – 34800 and Grade pay of Rs.4200 on Feb. 2010.

I am working in Dept. of Posts. I got ACP I on 1.9.08. I was promoted as Inspector, Posts on 28.1.10. What will be my pay on fixation at both the stages. Whether I will be granted on increment on my regular promotion ?
I will get NFG of Rs.5400/- from 1st December 2010,
in pay band three.The Pay Band + GP amounting to 15600+5400=21000. But my basic is 21,020 from 01.07.2009. I have already crossed the minimum of Pay Band + Grade Pay of my next (promotional) pay. How my pay will be fixed.
Can any body will explain Please?

i got promotion on 10th june 2010 as a technion
before my basic was 2650 on 1.1.2006 and when i got promtion i got 4000 basic but after sixth pay commtion i getting less than my juniors in same cader they are direct rucruted they get 7510 basic with plus 2400 grade pay and i getting 7950 basic adding with grade pay and june 2008to till today i getting less salary than my junior rupees 3500per month.so sir please sent me my copy of fixation
I promoted as Inspector Posts in the pay scale of 5500-175-9000 on 16.01.2006 from Postal Assistant with pay as 4700 BP (Prerevised) as on 01.01.2006. I exercise revised option to opt 6 CPC as on 16.01.2006 and requested to fix my pay under Rule 11 of CCS (RP) Rules 2008. My basic pay in the pre-revised scale of pay of Rs. 3,050-75-3,950-80-4,590 was Rs.4,030/- as on 1.6.2006. I got promotion in the grade of Senior Clerk in the scale of pay of Rs. 4,000-100-6,000 with effect from 3.5.2006 and later appointed in the scale of pay of Rs. 5,500-175-9,000 (revised to Rs. 9,300-34,800, grade pay Rs. 4,200/-) with effect from 22 July, 2008. I shall be very gratefuf if you could kindly clarify the following:
1. What will be my basic pay as on 1.6.2006
2. Basic pay as on 3.5.2006
3 Basic pay as on 22.7.2008

I was working as a group and i got promotion as PA on 21/12/2007. My pay fixation is very bad. Because my basic pay is very less than Postman or Junior PA. The above fixation rule is very unjustice. So Please correct it otherwise I have decided to go CAT.
How the fixation may done when a person post holding of AFM & permoted as FM in January 2006, however posts have been merged in 2006 by 6th cpc.
How to conduct dpc for the per motion, when two grads have been merged & recruitment rule is not amended. The merged grades are like:
CM-II & CM-I = CM
AFM & FM = FM

I am working in AIR as stenographer Gr.II and my pre-revised scale of pay as on 01/01/2006 was 5000-150-8000. As per 6CPC my pay is fixed in PB 2 9300-34800 with Grade pay of Rs. 4,200/- I got my 2nd ACP on completion of 24 years on 05/07/2007 (of Stenographger GR.I pre-revised scale of 5500-9000 – the order is issued prior to implementation of 6CPC)
The clarifications on the method of pay on proimotrion/ACP after 01/012006 was issued by MoF, Dept. of Exp (IC) vide OM No. 1/1/2008-IC dt. 13/09/2008. with reference to this OM I would like to know whether I should get Grade pay opf Rs. 4600/- in the revised scale from the date of my ACP i.e 05/07/2007
I am working in central Govt. under Civil Accounts Orgnisation. I got promotion on 14/08/2007 as accountant in pay scale 4500-125-8000.
I would like to know my pay fixation, and what about my qalification pay after passing departmental examination.
All the qalification pay are double after 6cpc. but our qalification pay are still same i.e. Rs. 60/- p.m.
Am working in central governent office and got promoted with effect from 01-07-10 in the pay scale 37400 -67000 with grade pay 8700.
As per the new rules the increment date is also from 01-07-10.
Kindly let me know my pay fixation with maximum benefit.

i have promoted as Inspector(Examiner) on 17.01.2006 i was fixed in the pay scale structure of Rs.6500+allowances i.e. 12150 whereas it should be 13250 has to be fixed with one increment.

An employee is working in a promoted grade in 15600-39100 PB with GP of 6600. He has applied for another post in the same organization with same PB and GP. He was selected for the post trhough intervene (Selective promotion).His present pay is 31190 and GP 6600. How his pay will be fixed 1. between Jan 10 to July 10 2. between July 10 to January 2011. Is he eligible additional increment for pay fixation or not. Kindly advice on pay fixation

I got promotion 14/05/2010 with effect from January 1992 . I was to opt the pay fixation from the date of my increment ( August-1992) within ONE MONTH. Which could not do in time frame and submitted my option on 2/08/2010 for getting my fay fixation from the date of my increment .
Kindly advise whether my case can be condered according to my option? other wise I will get LOSS.

revised to grade pay 2400 on 1.1.6 with DNI on 1.7.2006

on 1.7.2006 = 8510+2400
promoted to head clerk in grade pay 4200 with starting band pay Rs.9300.00
so the option for pay fixation from date of promotiono would be beneficial.
your pay on 1.5.07 with DNI on 1.7.2008 would Rs.9300+4200
on 1.7.09 it would Rs.9710+4200 and on 1.7.10, it will be Rs.10130+4200

Dear Sir,
Kindly clarify again about the rounding off to next 10. In my opinion even if calculations works out to be at multiple of 10, it should be rounded off to next ten, for example – 1960 to be rounded off to 1970 and 1959.99 to 1960. Kindly re-examine and reply. The rule 9 of CCS (Revised Pay) Rule, 2008 reads as under
“The rate of increment in the revised pay structure will be 3% of the sum of the pay in the pay band and grade pay applicable, which will be rounded off to the next multiple of 10.”
So it means, the amount arrived by multiplying 3% will always be rounded off to the next multiple of ten irrespective of what the amount is”. Even if it is multiple of 10, it will be rounded off to next multiple of 10.
So, kindly clarify.
After implementation of 6cpc my pay was fixed as BP 7220 and GP 2400 as on 01-01-2006 whereas pay for direct entry recruits is BP 7510 and GP 2400. is my pay fixation is correct or wrong ? What should be my correct pay as on 01-01-2006

This is the second time I am referring to you.
I am a stenographer appointed in 1996. My DOJ is 8.9.1996. Actually, I was promoted as Stenographer alongwith four other colleagues vide an order dated 29.8.1996. My colleagues placed at the same station (Chennai) have joined the post before 31.8.1996. My work place was in some other station (Madurai) and I could not assume charge on or before 31.8.1996. While granting benefits under ACP, my name and my another colleagues names were omitted since we assumed the charge after 31.8.1996. Our representations did not yield any result. Now, benefits under MACP has been granted with grade pay as Rs.2800/-. In our organisation the stenos scale is Rs.4000-100-6000 and the next stage is 6500-10500 only in the pre-revised scale of pay. Please clarify whether we are eligible for benefits under ACP and our GP is fixed @ 4600/-? Please clarify.

there was some mistake in the regulation of pay on 1.7.09 and 1.7.10. Please read 1.7.08 in stead of 1.7.09 and 1.7.09 in place of 1.7.10 in the last line of my reply at Sl.24 above.

U have not told ur initial pay at the time of promotion as UDC on 31.12.2002. However, taking ur initial pay as minimum of the scale, your basic pay on various occasions can be regulated as under :
On 1.12.2003 : Rs.4100
On 1.12.2004 : Rs.4200
On 1.12.2005 : Rs.4300
Revised to New Pay band wef 1.1.06 in the pay band of Rs.5200-20200 with grade pay Rs.2400
On 1.1.06 : Rs.8000+2400
On 1.7.06 : Rs.8320+2400
Promoted to next grade pay of Rs.4200 in pay band2 wef 1.4.7
The option of pay fixation from date of promotion is beneficial.
on 1.4.2007 : Rs.9300+4200 with DNI on 1.7.2008
On 1.7.2007 : Same
On 1.7.2008 : Rs.9710+4200
On 1.7.09 : Rs.10130+4200
on 1.7.10 : Rs.10560+4200
