Family Planning Allowance for adoption of small family norms

Revision in the rates of Family Planning Allowance for adoption of small family norms following the recommendations of the Sixth Central Pay Commission.

Consequent upon the implementation of the revised pay structure by the Government with effect from 1st January, 2006 on the basis of recommendations of the Sixth Central Pay Commission and in partial modification of this Ministry’s O.M.No.6(39)/98-IC.II dated 6th July, 1999, the president is pleased to sanction the revised Family Planning Allowance at double the existing amount of the Family Planning Allowance, subject to a minimum of Rs.210/- per month as indicated in Column 7 of Annexure to this Office Memorandum.

3. These orders will be effective from 1st September, 2008.Annexure to O.M.No.7(20)/2008-E.III(A) dated 24th September, 2008

Revised Rates of Family Planning Allowance (FPA) with reference to Revised Pay Bands and Grade Pays for posta carrying present scales in Group ‘A’,'B’,'C’,'D’

2. The allowance will be related to the Grade Pay corresponding to the post against which the employee concerned had initially earned or will earn the Family Planning Allowance. All other terms and conditions governing the grant of Family Planning Allowance shall remain unchanged.

4. In so far as persons serving in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department are concerned, these orders after consultation with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.

5. Hindi version of this O.M. will follow.

    i was previously worked in central railway and my wife was operated for family planning operation (in railway Hospital)and i had get Special allowances for family planning operation. after proper Noc/ and Reliving i was left central railway and Join Indian Oil Corporation (PSU).
    please tell me can i get family planning allowance from IOC

    if an ex-service man retired frm Air force and joined Railways thereafter, he had undergone family planning operation while he was serving in Air Force and also received FPA there. is he eligible to get the FPA in the Railway also ? if so under which rule ?

    i am working in Indian Railways. my wife undergone tubectomy from Private Nursing home. the certicicate was counter signed by Medical Officer of Railway Hospital.
    am i entitled for getting Familily Planning allowance by producing the certificate to the administration?

    kindly let me know if i have got my delivery done from the pvt. nursing home and tubectomy has also been done over there, will the CMO/AMA/DMO/Civil Surgeon of central government hospital do the countersigned on my tubectomy certificate. because without the countersignature of my tubectomy certificate i will not be able to get the increment which is entitled to me. Sir please let me know the same.

    Sir,I am working in PSU. I have no issue,therefore I adopted a child due to some problem with my wife.I have done family planning operation To avoid mis-courage . My company refuged to give any benefit because of no parental issue. Sir, I want to know that I am eligible or not to get family planning operation benefits?     wife of the central government employee had undergoine family planning operation on 10.10.2000 and drawing fpa wef 01.11.2000. He expired during 2008 and his wife got compassionate appointment and joined in service during 2009. is she is eligible for drawing fpa. if so provide rules and date from which she is eligible for drawing fpa.

    Dear/Sir/madam
    I am a central govt.employee.My wife has undergone family planning operation on 1988.At that time my pay scal was 1320-2040,and I have got FPA of Rs 30 .After 4th CPC it got changed to 4000-100-6000,and FPA chaged to RS 100.Afterwards I have got two ACP of 4500-7000 & 5000-8000,out of which I have got 2nd ACP on 2003.
    At present I am drawing FPA Rs 210.Is it right or worng,please clarify,and rely to my mail address.

    I joined as LDC in feb/1971,got prommotion as UDCin 1974, again in Oct.1978 I was prommoted as Asstt.Supdt.in the pay scale of 470/- In 2006 I was prommoted as Supdt. in the pay scale of 6500/- The scale is merged by the 6th pay commision in the GP 4600/- I retired in march/2009.My Question is whether I will get any MACP?     Sir,
    sir at the time of family planning in February 2009, i was in the grade pay of Rs.4800/-pm, hence i am getting family planning allowance @Rs.500/-pm, but i have, recently, got financial upgradation under MACP retrospectively from september 2008. whether i may get FPA @Rs.550/-pm. my office is not giving me FPA @Rs.550/- as the pay of my grade is 4800/- and i am getting grade pay of Rs.5400/-due to MACP which will not be considered for giving FPA at the rate admissible in grade pay of Rs.5400/-

    i have querry regarding family planning allowance.
    a-in our department family planning rule is one should attain the age of 40 and not more than two children. small children age exceed 10 years.
    b-family planning allowance will be payable on the due date or from the date on which one apply .
    let me know the basic rule on above of financial hand book .

    I am working in Defence Department as Civilian Officer. My pay scale as on 1-1-2006 was 6500-200-10500 and I was getting Family Planning Allowance of Rs 175/-pm. After 6 CPC my post has been upgraded with pay scale 7450-225-11500 and now my department is giving me Family Planning Allowance of 400/-pm. Please intimate what will be my family Planning Allowance from 1-1-2006.Whether it is Rs 400/- Or Rs 450-/-.

    Hi , colleagues,
    The revised rate FPA should be apllicable for all those who are availing or availed the benefits of MACP .

    As per the MACP , GRADE PAY may be automatically goes up ;
    while the same change should be applied automatically for
    FPA .
    The FPA table is useful for me to know this ;
    PLEASE LET ALL OTHERS TO KNOW AND MAKE necessary changes.

    just a minute for thought ;

    i am one of those central govt employees ‘
    who is not aviling FPA . and having a kid .
    so , this is not beneficial to me but to all of you .

    It is just a unknown gesture propelled me to write this.
